Nepal Women’s National Football Team Striker

Sabitra Bhandari “Samba” is a star forward for the Nepal National Women’s Football Team and currently plays for Wellington Phoenix FC. Known for her speed, strength, and clinical finishing, she is Nepal’s all-time top scorer and holds the record as South Asia’s highest-scoring female footballer.

Sethu FC

She played for Sethu FC in 2019 during the Indian Women’s League. In her debut match, she scored four goals and was awarded Woman of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Gokulam Kerala FC

She played for Gokulam Kerala FC in 2020 and 2023, winning the league title on both occasions and finishing as the top scorer, including 31 goals in 2023, which helped her secure her third Indian Women’s League trophy.

Hapoel Ra'anana

She joined Hapoel Ra'anana in 2023, making an instant impact by scoring decisive goals in league and cup matches, finishing with six league goals before her stint was cut short due to unforeseen circumstances.

En Avant Guingamp

She joined EA Guingamp in 2024, scoring one goal in her debut season and becoming the club’s top scorer in 2024–25 with six goals, including a brace against PSG and a historic hat-trick, becoming the first Nepali and South Asian player to achieve the feat in Europe’s top tier.

Wellington Phoenix FC

In 2025, Sabitra Bhandari, popularly known as “Samba” in Nepal and the wider football community, signed with New Zealand–based club Wellington Phoenix FC.
